At Be Wellness, we wanted to create a framework for therapeutic support that supports the whole person.
Lifestyle Optimization blends evidence-based, occupational therapy practices + Yoga & the application of it’s philosophy and spiritual roots + relationship-based support to help you achieve your anything life goal.
We’ve rooted Lifestyle Optimization in these 8 Pillars of Wellness…
Each represents a part of your whole human being
Intuitive & Adapted Physical Movement
Sustainable physical activity routines should be motivating and promote longevity. Instead of following preset exercise plans, most mediums of movement can be performed when you have an intuitive sense of your body’s strengths & how to eliminate barriers within the practice. The benefits of improved stress, pain, and cardiovascular health will be a natural result from your confidence in daily movement!
Self-Care & Sustainable Habits
Rather than adding expectations & “should”-ing on yourself, reframing how to utilize your current resources and optimizing your environments can improve your ability to choose sustainable options for your health and well-being. Understanding current evidence & un-learning harmful messages around food, self-care, and productivity can empower you to feel bliss in your daily choices.
Play, Flow, and Intimacy
Play, flow, and intimacy are various states of “being,” yet rarely encouraged or explored in wellness or health spaces. Play is spontaneous & sparks joy and creativity. A “State of Flow” arises from confidence & eagerness. Free expression of sex, sexuality, and intimacy is necessary to a strong sense of self within our own bodies & in our relationships.
Each is a result of our ability to be ourselves without fear, doubt, or omission. Each is important, for any age and background, to experience on a regular basis to defend against daily drudgery, burnout, and fatigue.
Social Connection & Contribution
It takes a community to get you to flourish - more hands, less work! Integrating your roots amongst those of your most important people in your life is necessary for collective peace and well-being. Unpracticed social connection is normal in a post-pandemic world, especially compounded with neuro-divergence or burnout, so seeking safe & non-judgmental support can be greatly beneficial!
Spirituality
Because of the complicated and tabooed nature of spirituality, wellness services often misjudge the significance of it in a person’s journey toward a sense of well-being. Spirituality does not have to be rigorously defined or guided by an institution in order to have and give meaning in someone’s life. Whether it be reconnecting to a religious practice or simply exploring the “divine” in your daily life, connection to and embodiment of spirituality can contribute to a deeper sense of purpose and meaning - enabling you to be feel equipped with life’s challenges & griefs.
Sleep, Rest, & Self-Regulation
Though well-researched & spoken about often in the wellness industry, it is still important to reflect on and optimize your own rest practices to ensure you are adjusting to the tides of your daily life and energetic needs. The ways we manage stress and maintain our energy shifts with our external & internal circumstances and sometimes we need a more robust and creative approach to reach that state of contentment consistently.
An integrative approach to holistic wellness.
