About the Founder,
As a fitness and recreation professional for over 10 years, I’ve become disillusioned by common & popular “wellness” teachings. Thankfully, through mentorship in Los Angeles Yoga spaces & obtaining my Masters in Occupational Therapy from CSUDH, I’ve gathered tangible tools & confidence to create health & wellness services that are authentic to my values and beliefs. Rooted in inclusivity, accessibility, and general real-ness, I wanted to establish a business that combines the evidence- & relationship-based approaches from occupational therapy with the transformative & spiritual nature of Yoga.
A nerd at heart, I love to educate about the interplay between biopsychosocial models and the philosophical, abstract experiences of the human condition. Most of the time, I like to live in the grey area of life, which, I believe, empowers my clients and students to embrace their uniqueness and complexity and to let go of unrealistic standards of “health.”
My own lived experiences with persistent depression & chronic pain/injury grounds my work - I’ve found relying on intellectualizing my well-being hinders my ability to engage with my intuitive power. In reality, healing is multi-faceted, slow-paced, and certainly not possible alone.
My vision for Be Wellness is to hold space for those who may feel similar: stuck or lost in their daily life. I hope to normalize the non-linear, messy journey toward an imperfect mind-body-spirit connection.
